“KEY” Tip: It is important for you, as a client or customer, to control your costs during the design phases and minimize changes during construction. The builder will build or change whatever you want (subject to specific area/subdivision guidelines OR building codes), however, do remember that the control of your budget is ultimately yours in the end. For example, if you want Swarovski crystal on your exterior, the builder will certainly accommodate you BUT there is also a cost associated to such wishes. It’s simple math and reality. Always make wise, cost effective choices from the outset unless you have an unlimited budget. Secondly, making changes on paper prior to construction is always more cost effective than during construction. Study your plans intimately and remember that you are building custom where “anything” is possible but obviously with associated costs attached. You must sign off in advance of any/all changes you want so YOU ARE IN CONTROL!
